Brenda & Ron’s Campground Picks
• Lincoln State Park in Lincoln City, IN
Brenda’s pick happens to be a favorite of history buffs as well. The area was the childhood home of Abraham Lincoln and the park was constructed as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps program, which provided much-needed jobs to unemployed Americans during the Great Depression.
• Mounds State Park
Another historical landmark, Mound State Park contains several Native American burial sites from long before others took up residence in the area. Ron recommends this park, which offers lots of walking trails around the mounds and the White River for both beginner and intermediate hikers.

I actually really like Timberline in Chesterfield. It is quiet, nice pond for the kids to swim and it has a very nice trail along the tree-lined perimeter of the campground.
